Operation Independant fromAmbient Light

A special cold-light illuminator without any ultraviolet and infrared radiation guarantees harmless and uniform illumination. As the illuminator is located inside the scan head and is simply moved across the original it doesn’t matter where the scanner is being placed. Bright sunlight or intensive ceiling light does not interfere in the scanning process. Further there is no external light source irritating the operator.

Please note that ambient light is way more harmful to the original than the illuminator utilized in the SMA 11!

The SMA 11 is equipped with a book cradle as a standard feature. The operator can choose within seconds whether he wants to use the flat table or the state of the art book cradle. Further a special book cradle for books that cannot be opened entirely can be attached just like this.

Amajor highlight is the newly designed scanning concept. The operator can choose whether he want to scan with or without glass plate. Thus, very fragile originals which are prohibited to be touched can be scanned without physical impact - but in the same outstanding quality. Removing the glass plate is a fully automatic,motor driven process and only takes a fewseconds. Book cradle and scanner are being operated conveniently via foot switch.

The SMA 21 is a revolutionary scanner in the large format area because it can scan an A2 document in only 2 seconds! at 300dpi and 24 bit colour depth. After only 5 seconds the image is compressed aswell. All scanner functions can be controlled by an internet browser to allow for independent use. On the SMA 21 the unique design allows for the operator to sit on one side of the scanner when scanning A2 documents and the other side when scanning A1 documents allowing for very easy user operation.
